Colds & Coughs

Colds cause a runny nose, sneezing and a sore throat. Flus are more severe and cause high fevers, chills, body aches and a feeling of total exhaustion. Although colds and flus tend to be gone within a week, the body's recuperating time is often longer. A healthy immune system will usually resist colds and flus with ease. Stress and poor health will cause a person to become more susceptible to recurring colds and flus.

Keeping hydrated during a cold or flu is very important and consuming warm broths, vegetable juices and herbal teas is also recommended. Further support is available in the form of supplements such as vitamin C, beta-carotene, zinc lozenges and garlic. Herbal remedies, such as echinacea, can also help bring about relief of symptoms and stimulate the immune system.
